How to Squeeze 365 Days into One Sentence

How to Squeeze 365 Days into One Sentence

I usually name each coming year in one sentence according to God’s promises that I have received for it. These promises are not superstitious for they comprise of God’s vision and my responsibility. After a careful evaluation of the passing year, of what I have and have not achieved in Christ, prayerfully I come up with a sentence which summarizes and is shortened version of God’s spoken message to me about the next 365 days ahead. And 2014 is, to me and my church, the year of Maturity and Multiplication!

Why do I think we need a prophetic word for the year? Hmm...just as we need breakfast each morning—the healthiest meal of the day, so does a prophetic word the healthiest way to start a year! Why not?!

The prophetic name of our year during 2013 was also the year of Maturity and Multiplication, since this has been our vision for 3 consecutive years of 2013-2015. To us, these words of faith aren’t merely a slogan but a promise and a homework. Thus, we—God and us—need time to accomplish.

The difference between people who have and have not a prophetic name for a year is focus and fun. Our life is a message; and any good message/sermon always has one focus, instead of going in all different directions. Fun: it is always exciting and delightful to see what you believe—and what God says—comes to pass before your very eyes. If we didn’t name God’s main promise for the year, how would we know if anything has come to pass? Lest we’d like to think that everything happens by accident. I don’t like that thought!
